A messy home = A messy mind
Don't judge me when I say this, but when I go to someone's home and it's messy, I think less of them.
I know it's wrong of me, and I'm working on it, but it's hard not to think to myself, "How do you live like this?!"
To me, my home is a reflection of my inner state. If I'm in a stressful period of my life, my shit is usually everywhere, and my home is usually in a mess.
I mean you've definitely felt it right? Imagine someone invites you over for dinner and upon entering, their flat looks as though they've had squatters for 6 months; clothes on the floor, dirty pots and pans in the sink, their suitcase on the floor from their last trip, and the worst one: an unmade bed (the horror!).
I'm not saying that if you're messy, then you have no control over your life. It's more like: A messy home makes it harder to connect with ourselves. It makes it harder for our actions to be aligned with what we truly feel on the inside.
A bit woo-woo, but I'm sticking with it.
